Age is sometimes used to box people in, as a reason why you shouldn't do something or why you should have achieved something by a certain age.

For someone like Zoë Brown, she could hear something like "Why don't you have children yet?"

Or take Carl Wastie, who was told he's too old to have a mohawk.

Carl also recently found out about a 69-year-old father of 11 who went back to university hoping to graduate with a medical degree.

This got Carl wondering about our listeners who are living the philosophy "Age ain't nothing but a number" and going after their dreams, even when others said they were too old.

Here are some of our favourite stories:

  • Lizelle on Facebook is studying for her B.Ed at 48 years of age.
  • Diana started CrossFit at 63.
  • Carol went ziplining at the age of 62.
  • Val is 70 and does yoga and pilates every week.
