After a six-year hiatus from music, Adele is back to reclaim her throne as queen of heart-wrenching ballads.

'Easy on Me' is the multi-time Grammy-winning artist's lead song off her fourth studio album, 30, which drops on Friday, 19 November 2021.

In a statement released ahead of her new single, Adele revealed that she began recording three years ago, "I was certainly nowhere near where I'd hoped to be when I first started it three years ago. Quite the opposite actually."

“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones," the 33-year-old singer went on to share.

"I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go so far as to say I’ve never felt so peaceful in my life.”

True to her pop-soul style, 'Easy on Me' is an emotive ballad that gives insight into her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki.

The vulnerable track reflects the end of a relationship with lyrics: There ain't no room for things to change / When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways / You can't deny how hard I have tried.

And the fans are loving it with over 23 million streams on YouTube within 14 hours of its release.
