If there's one thing that resident fitness enthusiast Liezel van der Westhuizen enjoys, it's trying out unique and exciting ways to keep fit.

She joins CapeTalk's Africa Melane to share more about an Aerial Yoga and its benefits.

Imagine getting into a silky hammock, which is draped from the ceiling, it supports your body and you manoeuvre the fabric and you do the workout hanging from the ceiling.

It is much easier than the pole... This fabric supports you and you don't need to do all the crazy things that we've seen them do in Cirque du Soleil.

Liezel adds that the fabric is there to support you as you move into yoga poses. There are classes for different intensity levels, there are levels that combine pilates, aerobics and athletics.

The benefits of aerial yoga include opening your shoulders, lengthening your back

You do a 45-minute class which is first the swing, then the class... then wrapped up in this cacoon for 5-minutes of relaxation.

While the workout shares a lot of similarities with traditional yoga, there are big differences. Listen below for more on this amazing and unique workout.
