Liezel van der Westhuizen discusses kettlebell workouts with CapeTalk host, Africa Melane.

For those wanting a boost in strength, resident fitness enthusiast Liezel van der Westhuizen has found the workout for you.

Kettlebell exercises are known to improve overall strength, core power, balance, flexibility, and coordination while melting fat and sculpting healthy and lean muscles.

Liezel calls on 'King of the Kettlebell' Chris Walsh from 360 Specialized Training to share tips and advice on how to swing a kettlebell.

The Swing

A lot of people are scooping, this is when you tighten your hip flexes you tend to follow the kettlebell down between your legs and as you come up you don't fully extend your knees... You take a lot of strain to your lower back, you obviously want your legs to be doing the work

Chris Walsh, 360 Specialized Training

What you want to is stretch your hip flexes out a bit more, take a shallower squat... strong hip thrusts and that will help with that.
