Miley Cyrus' seventh studio album has reached 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The success of 'Plastic Hearts', released in November 2020, has catapulted Miley alongside Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga as the only women artists over the last three decades to have an album reach 1 billion Spotify streams.

Taylor Swift became the first female to have six of her nine albums surpass the 1 billion mark in 2020, following Folklore's certification. Reputation was Swift’s first album to surpass the goal just over a year after release in 2018.

In September 2020, Lady Gaga’s album Chromatica hit 1 billion a few months after the initial release. The deluxe edition of her 2008 debut album The Fame became Gaga’s first album to hit over 1 billion streams in 2019. The original album surpassed the same record later that year.
