Women Crush Wednesday focuses on phenomenal women in our communities.

When Carmen Simons read an article about how homeless women in Cape Town cope with menstruation, she knew that she had to do something.

And so she started an initiative called Homeless Sanitary Drive.

As part of Women Crush Wednesday, Tracey Lange interviewed Carmen Simon to learn more about her project.

It was actually so sad, being a woman and to find out that there is someone walking out there that don't have what we sometimes take for granted... that was the turning point for me, I had to do something to help these homeless women.
