It's been a whole ten years since Adele released her sophomore album, 21.

The powerhouse singer-songwriter paid tribute to the award-winning record with a post on Instagram.

"Well I never! Happy 10 years old friend! It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But Thank You from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it x"

Named after the age of the singer during its production, 21 was released in Europe on 24 January 2011.

The album's singles did exceptionally well with "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain" becoming international number-one songs, while "Rumour Has It" charted across Europe and North America.

21 won the 2012 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and the Brit Award for British Album of the Year.
