Tracey chats to Lynelle Kenned an opera singer and theatre actress about how the lockdown has affected the Arts industry and how it has forced them to get creative about the way they work.

In March when the hard lockdown happened, artists everywhere were just devastated by how our livelihood was taken away and also our sense of identity: who are you when you're not able to do what you love and to share that with the world.

From that people started really innovating themselves and seeing where we can collaborate, what projects we can work on, how we can use the arts to really pull us through the difficult times.

Just before lockdown, Lynelle was working on a production called 'From Broadway to Bird Street'.

It's a show with all of the highlights from all of the beloved musicals.

Hennie van Greunen and Pedro Kruger put together - they've been working with children around the country for the Curro Creates Arts programme... all of these beautiful high school learners they brought them in and they were rehearsing for months and months leading up to the production.

What was really unexpected for us was how inspirational it was to be working with young people whoa re really discovering the artform and the absolute passion and enthusiasm...
