Petra Mei lives in Langebaan. Her husband, a Nigerian citizen, received unfortunate news from the South African embassy that he and their son will not be able to join Petra in South Africa for Christmas.
While Petra has a passport and visa, she lost her job recently and unable to afford tickets to see her family.
After eight years together, Petra and Chuks got married in February 2020. Earlier this year they adopted his nephew, Gaius. They've done short visits between the two countries, but it's always been a struggle to stay together long-term.
Kfm Mornings call Petra to let her know that she'll be spending Christmas with Chuks and Gaius in Nigeria. Along with the flights and accommodation, Makro is also gifting her with a R20,000 voucher for Christmas presents for her family.
