  2. 09:00 - 12:00 Tracey Lange

Over 17 000 runners and walkers took to the Atlantic Seaboard for the 27th OUTsurance Life Kfm Gun Run on Sunday morning. From the half marathon elites to fun-running mums and dads with prams, the 21.1km, 10km and 5km events proved that running truly is for everyone.

The buzz and contagious energy was inescapable as half marathon runners lined up early on Sunday morning. Liezel van der Westhuizen (Kfm) and Mike Finch (Runners World) played an integral role in providing the runners with pre-race “gees”. Mayor Dan Plato had the honour of firing the traditional battlefield starting gun, manned by Cape Field Artillery.

The OUTsurance Life Kfm Gun Run is an iconic event on the road-running calendar. Every year we look forward to seeing the people of the Cape participate in this feel-great day out in the Cape. Kfm 94.5 brand touch points included the Kfm water point, vibe (gees) activations and Rocket our mascot entertaining the crowd with his signature dance moves. Our presenters also participated in the race, and Kfm Sundaze breakfast host, Saskia Falken hosted her Sunday breakfast show live from the finish!”
