An Australian woman allegedly faked a cancer diagnosis to scam thousands of dollars from the public. She created a blog and posted heartwrenching photographs and detailed accounts of her illness - ovarian cancer stage V, which is not even a real illness.

ABC News reports that Lucy Weiland created a Go Fund Me page and raised $55 000 from an unsuspecting and sympathetic public to help with her treatment.

A member of the public apparently bust her eventually and she was arrested for fraud. The 27-year-old has appeared in court and police say it is a warning for people to be more careful before donating to causes online.
